The historical museum receives a donation from a local citizen | New

PLATTSMOUTH – The Cass County Historical Society Museum will receive additional financial support thanks to the thoughtfulness of a local resident.

Cass County resident Steve Wehrbein donated $500 to the museum in a ceremony last week. The Plattsmouth Community Foundation Fund presented Wehrbein with the Citizen of the Year award at the end of April. The award came with a check for $500 which he could use to donate to a charitable foundation of his choice.

Margo Prentiss is the museum’s curator and has been responsible for creating and curating hundreds of exhibitions during her tenure. She told Wehrbein that she and other members of the Cass County Historical Society were happy to receive the donation.

“It’s something we really appreciate,” Prentiss said. “We appreciate you thinking of us.”

Wehrbein said there was no specific area of the museum to which he donated the money. He felt that all the exhibitions deserved to have additional funds.
