New red paint and Christmas decorations make the museum an inviting place to visit. Members of the historical society include, front row from left: Mary Elinor Kennedy, Barb Jackson and Lucille Fitzsenry. Back: Connie Stille and Linda Tilton.

The Buena Vista County Historical Museum has had a facelift. Now sporting new signs, painting, and discovering new treasures from Buena Vista’s past, the museum is better than ever.

None of this would be possible without the generosity of others. The Buena Vista County Historical Society Board of Directors would like to thank Vista Paints for their contribution to the exterior paint, Dan Waites of Commercial Sign and Design who created the new signs that adorn the front and back of the museum, Garbage Hauling Service for the use of a dumpster and Buena Vista University and Marjorie Neulieb for the hall carpet.

The board would also like to thank the volunteers who helped with the interior painting and the organization of the archives and, of course, to all of you who support BVCHS financially.

The museum is located at 214 W. Fifth St. and is open Tuesday through Friday, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Come, visit and enjoy a trip down memory lane. The screens are constantly being updated.
