New $ 80 Million Hotel in Downtown Louisville to Incorporate Historic Church Site | New

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) – A new $ 80 million hotel in Louisville is expected to create accommodation options near the downtown Norton Hospital complex.

The Lazlo Group plans to incorporate the German Evangelical St. Paul’s Church into the design of the hotel, which would be near the intersection of South Brook Street and West Broadway.

The project would include hotel rooms and extended stay options for faculty and medical staff, medical school recruits and more.

In addition, it would provide “a space for families of loved ones seeking medical care near this medical facility, so that they can be there with their loved ones and attend to their needs as well,” said David Tandy, lawyer. . for the project.

The Lazlo Group hopes to launch the project sometime in 2021, but the land is inside the area where the new tax revenue goes to the Arena Authority. The Lazlo Group wants these tax revenues to help pay for the project, which has already been approved for developments such as the Omni Hotel.

According to University of Louisville digital collections, the German Evangelical St. Paul’s Church was built in 1906 and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.
