24 E, rue Niagara Tonawanda NY 14150
The Benjamin Long Homestead is a historic house museum.
From the moment you enter the side door of the cellar at the west end until your visit to the second-floor spinning and weaving room concludes, enjoy the adventure of this historic house museum.
Ask as many questions as you want of the well-trained docents. If you live there, plan to go multiple times, as you’ll never see the exact same artifacts from the museum’s collections, and the storytelling is always slightly different. Children and school groups really enjoy the learning experience, just like adults.
Break rooms and a bookstore / gift shop are inside, but there are several flights of stairs and, of course, no elevator in this 1829 log home!
It is fully restored, preserved, maintained and maintained open seasonally by the Historical Society of Tonawandas, Inc. It is staffed by volunteers. Funded primarily by donations to the Société historique des Tonawandas, a 501 (c) (3) company.
